Ugh! We decided to have dinner here as it is close to our cabin. I had also seen that the chef had been a Chopped champ. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken. It came with a large biscuit and potato salad. The chicken was dry and had a big layer of rubbery fat under the strange crust. The potato salad was.. I don't know how to explain it but it was not good. I ate a bit of the biscuit and a few bites of the chicken meat dipped in salad dressing for flavor and moisture as it badly needed it. I was hungry but it was just not edible. I should have sent it back and would have if time allowed. The waitresses seemed too busy talking at the host stand to notice anything going on. No questions as my nearly full plate was cleared by the waitress. Not even a how was everything. My Husband's food was also not good. He had a mushroom burger and was just thankful that the fries were edible because the burger wasn't. We will not be back.
Ive eaten here several times, and tried a variety of items. The food has been great every time I've been here. Good location. Service is OK. Fried tomatoes, tuna salsa, and deviled eggs are outstanding. Big burgers, good steaks. The fried chicken is humongous, couldn't finish it. A little pricey, but what isn't in Hochatown. Good locally brewed beers on tap. Love Tab's Dirt Road coffee beer. I'll keep coming back.

The mountain fork burger is a beautiful thing. A tasty burger with THICK cut bacon, a sunny side up egg, mixed greens, tomatoes, beer braised onions, and topped off with plenty of cheddar cheese. The fries are excellent too! Add a tasty local brew for a winning combination.
We traveled from Fort Worth to Broken Bow just on a whim! A local person visiting the chamber of commerce office told us this was the place to go for Music, Food and Service. The wife and I enjoyed a beer and what they called a pizza...that pizza was AWESOME...more like a chef meal. The waitress (Asian look about her) checked with us several times and returned to us with several smiles. We never heard her name but if you happen to go to this place ask for this young women...QUALITY SERVICE! GREAT FOOD! GREAT BAND too!
