One of our favorite get away places. It's about 3 hours from Dallas (depending on traffic) and it's so well worth the drive. You can always find a spot on the lake for you and your party to be by yourselves. Lots of coves and there are no houses built on the lake at all. Great fishing or ou can set your anchor and just float your life away. We come here 2 to 3 times a year, but I sure wish we did it more often.
Couldn't have enjoyed ourselves better after renting a pontoon boat and tow behind for two hours on a Monday!! Everything from their life jackets to their boats were kept in great condition and well organized. NOT the typical stereotype for rentals. All the staff was friendly and very helpful. Thankfully we were able to come on a weekday and didn't have to deal with a crowd (I'm sure this place would have one over most weekends, because everything is soooo nice), but would be willing to put up with one if we were only able to come for the weekend because of their great service. A big thank you from Texas!
I will start by saying, we understood "lost" items are not the Marina's responsibility when they went over policy and procedures. The 1 star goes towards how the employees (multiple!!) handled the situation! My son LEFT his new silver necklace in a compartment on ski boat # 44 NOT boat 40. We called soon after we realized it, they said they would look and call us... no call, we went up there 3 times and 3 times they looked on the WRONG boat #40. We got a call saying they found it and we can come get it. When my son went up there asked for it, was told by Madison (VERY rude)that the necklace they found had something on it. He asked if he could just look at it and she said no! He wasn't wanting a necklace that wasn't his, he just wanted to make sure . My sister had to go down there to straighten it out and was told it was the wrong necklace and they would look again and call us. No call.... We let them know we were leaving the next day at 11:00am and to please call us. Still no call!!! I called on Wednesday spoke to Megan who was very apologetic and nice, said she would have a manager call that day.... NO CALL! We tried and tried and I don't know how many employees it takes to look on the boat we said it was on to see if it was there, but oh my gosh!! At this point it isn't about the necklace! It's about the customer service and the lack of communication we have received. Good luck getting answers if you leave anything on any of the boats.
Never been on a jet ski before. The dock hands did a great job making me and my brother in law feel really comfortably. All charges were explained thoroughly and we were given clear directions on how to use the jet ski. Definitely the most fun I've had in a long time, and found a new hobby!
Rented one of the deck boats and it worked wonderful for 6 adults. Plenty of power for tubing and wake boarding. Staff was helpful and efficient. Only down side is that they charge a $45 "Environmental Fee" that other places in town do not, so it you were looking to rent a pontoon it might be cheaper from a place in town.
