I recently visited Beavers Bend with a group of about 80 people so we actually had 5 lodges rented. I didn't personally have any interaction with the staff since I didn't make the reservation so I can't comment on that but the lodges were all unique and overall really nice to stay in. I stayed in Big Bass which was one of the lodges with more restrooms. The lodge is set up with almost everything you would need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I really enjoyed the back porch area. They even put out candles for bugs which was a detail that for me is a huge plus. There were plenty of linens, towels, etc. and the couches were especially comfortable. Not sure if it was just user error but I did have some issues with the TV satellite signal at one point. The internet mostly works, it can be spotty at times, especially if there are multiple people or devices trying to connect. I worked remote from the lodge one day and it was okay but I did have to tether at times when the signal dropped. Also AT&T is the only cell provider that seems to work in this area. Overall, it was a great stay, close to all the state park activities and easily accessible. I would definitely return again.
My fiance and i planned this weekend stay with our friends, to have fun to go to the lake, going fishing, riding boats and just get away from the city, as we got to the cabin everything was going awesome, the place was awesome and beautiful, everything was clean and as we expected, i don't have anything to complain about,but everything was cut short after a black snake bit my dog as we were cooking on the grill outside on the back porch, we waited about 30 mins to see how my dog reacted to the bit, after the 30 mins my dogs paw was about twice her paw size, as we noticed that her paw was extremely swollen, we decided that we had to take her to a 24hr vet, closes vet was back home in Dallas, so we decided to leave, we had the cabin for 2 nights, but sadly we were only there for 7 hrs, those 7 hrs we were there were so much fun, i could just imagine how much fun those 2 nights could have been, if possible i do wish there could be signs that say to watch out for snakes spiders ect. as not only they can bite dogs but humans too. hopefully soon, my friends and i will come back again, next time maybe without pets, which sucks because i take my friendly pet everywhere with me. thank you
The cabins are beautiful. If you are looking for camping, this definitely isn't the way to go. If you are looking for a relaxing get away with all of the amenities of home and a few luxury add-ons. This is your place. There are plenty of very low key places to check out down the strip of highway, and plenty of out door activities to keep the family entertained.
Long story short, the manager/owner does NOT go by their policies at all. She cancelled my family's reservation WITHOUT any prior notice. So, I would not recommend using this company if you are looking to visit the area. (I do recommend visiting the area)! She was very rude, unprofessional, and very child-like. My family used this company many years for one of our yearly trips, booking several cabins at a time. So we will book elsewhere when we are in town.
We've stayed in two of their camps the past two years and really loved them both. We'll use them every time we go to the area.
