Great cabin and friendly accommodating owner! (Owen)
Very nice cabin for couples. Stayed here twice now a year ago and then the past weekend. Highly recommend staying here.
Nice little cabin close to plenty of things to do.
There was one major issue my parents found to have with the cabin, the hot tube that is conveniently located in the bedroom would not turn off, because of this my parents where unable to have the good sleep they where hoping to achieve by going to Friendly Pines cabin #5. They recommend informing the occupants of how to turn it off if it becomes bothersome (since it is right next to the bed).
To conclude this review, My parents contacted Tracie Willson on the way out to see if there was some type of compensation that could be made due to the Air Conditioning unit going out. They were informed (politely) that since The AC was working fine when she went in, there wasn’t an issue. So, she was sad it happened, but it was working fine and went down to 69 while she was there. Through text, Tracie said she didn’t find an issue and she was sorry it happened while we were there and she would look into it further. No compensation was offered for their discomfort. I personally disagree with this decision, as my parents where uncomfortable during the time the Air Conditioning unit was not working. I personally believe Friendly Pines should have at least made some type of offer to remedy the situation. My parents were invited to come back and bring us kids, but no offer for a free night stay or anything was made.
I originally booked a two night stay for my parents to have a enjoyable get away. As I expected, they did enjoy the cabins and area. However, there were issues that arose.
The owners were very nice. However, this is where they went wrong. On the second night my parents stayed (October 14th 2017) the air conditioning unit went out on them. Naturally, they were upset, so they contacted Tracie Willson at the first chance they had- on the way out, since cell phone service didn’t work there. Due to the Air Conditioning breaking there was water on the floor, which my mother took the liberty of cleaning up, on Friendly Pines behalf. As the water was a hazard and could have caused damage.
We had a wonderful stay at the Lost in the Woods cabin. Cabin was beautiful and the hot tub was great. Saw deer on Saturday and lots of squirrels. Wish we could have stayed longer. Looking forward to our next visit.
